Prioritizing Women’s Health

Women’s health and wellness has its own distinct field of medicine. Your gynecologic health as a woman plays a large role in your overall health. At the Institute for Hormonal Balance, we gladly provide well woman exams in Arlington to help you monitor and maintain your uterine, cervical, ovarian, and breast health.

How Well Woman Exams Work

Well woman exams involve getting a pap smear, a pelvic exam, a physical, and a breast exam. During your appointment, we perform a physical exam and obtain a cervical or vaginal swab to send for testing. Our pap smear specimen goes to a lab for HPV and cellular testing to determine your risk for cervical cancer. We recommend getting pelvic and breast exams annually.

What to Expect

When you arrive for your well woman exam in Arlington, we will provide you with a modest gown to change into. We will perform an exam of your neck and thyroid, breast, abdomen, and pelvic area including your cervix, ovaries, and uterus if they are still present. About Us

While the Institute For Hormonal Balance was established in 1985 by Dr. Gary Donovitz, our practice grew when Dr. Mandy Cotten, APRN, took over the practice in 2018. Since then, she and the rest of our expert providers have been implementing additional treatments to our practices in Arlington and Prosper, adding both aesthetic and wellness services for our patients.

By growing our expertise, we are expanding treatment options for patients, ensuring they receive high-quality, whole-body care that helps them live every day to the fullest.
