Our History
In 1985, Dr. Gary Donovitz founded his OB GYN practice and over the years provided cutting edge treatments to his patients. As his patient population grew older, he realized that his practice needed to shift to provide them with better care. Hormone imbalance became a very apparent problem for many of his post-partum and post-surgical patients, and he realized that the available treatments were subpar and were not helping his patients feel better.
Striving to provide optimal care to his patients, he started utilizing bioidentical pellet therapy in his practice and quickly realized that patients actually started feeling better. He knew that he needed to share this revolutionary treatment with other medical providers and their patients alike and he founded BioTE Medical in 2012. Dr. Donovitz went on to become an internationally recognized hormone specialist, has published several books, and trained thousands of providers globally.
In 2015, Dr. Mandy Cotten, FNP-C, APRN and Dr. Donovitz’s daughter, completed her Doctoral program at Loyola University in New Orleans in Nursing Practice, and realized that she did not need to look any further for the RIGHT career path. Mandy shared her father’s desire to provide superb care to her patients and knew that she had to join the team. Mandy became the clinical director for BioTE Medical in 2015 and provided education to over 4,000 providers internationally during her 8 years there.
Mandy became the owner of the Institute in 2018, and has grown the practice into a “one-stop shop” for aesthetics, wellness, and gynecology in Arlington. Mandy strives to create a world-class resource for hormonal, aesthetic, and wellness services. Mandy’s expertise and compassion towards helping others has created an experience for patients that is unlike any other. Mandy and the other top of the line providers at the Institute offer exceptional treatments to restore balance to our patients’ health and wellness.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we accept insurance for consultations and gynecology in Arlington. However, most of our aesthetic and holistic hormone services are not covered by insurance. So if you are receiving any of our aesthetic treatments, we accept payment using all major credits cards, cash, checks, HSA/FSA and Cherry financing.
Yes, we accept walk-in appointments for vitamin injections and some select services. However, if you are receiving any treatments for health, wellness, aesthetics or gynecology in Arlington, you will need to schedule an appointment ahead of time. This helps us ensure we have all the time and people we need to provide excellent service.
We want to respect our patients’ time, but we also want them to respect ours. So if you do not cancel an appointment within 24 hours notice, a $50 late fee will be charged to your account.
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to check in and fill out any necessary paperwork that our team needs. We also provide an online check-in process where you can complete all the paperwork on your own time. If you complete that online process, then you can arrive about 5 minutes early.

All you need to do is let us know what issues you are experiencing, and our team will send you a list of recommended services based on that preliminary information. An initial consultation with one of our experienced providers costs $175 for hormone therapy, weight loss, and wellness services. Aesthetics consultations are $50 and can be applied to the treatment you choose. During your consultation, we will determine which treatments will best address your concerns and create a customized treatment plan that will include any of our services for wellness, aesthetics, and gynecology in Arlington that address your needs
