Let EmSella Do Your Kegel Exercises for You

Pelvic floor muscles play an important role in overall health and wellness, and while Kegel exercises can help maintain tone, they’re not always practical or effective. EmSella® offers the same benefits with less work.

Pelvic health plays a big role in women’s wellness and self-confidence, especially in the menopause years. As women age and estrogen levels decline, pelvic floor muscles weaken, leading to urinary incontinence and other uncomfortable symptoms.

Many women know doing Kegel exercises can help restore pelvic floor muscle tone, but let’s face it: You need to do a lot of kegels to reap the rewards, and for many women, fitting in more exercise into their schedules is difficult, if not impossible.

Fortunately, Emsella® can help. This state-of-the-art system tones your pelvic floor muscles without the need for countless kegels — and it does it without surgery or downtime. In fact, you don’t even need to get undressed!

With locations in Arlington and Prosper, Texas, Institute for Hormonal Balance is a leading provider of Emsella therapy, helping women restore vaginal health and function. Our team offers a quick overview of Emsella in this post, including how it works and what to expect during your treatment.

Quick facts about pelvic health

Unlike your biceps, delts, and other muscles you can “see” or feel under your skin, your pelvic floor muscles are hidden inside your body. Stretching across the lower part of your pelvic region, the pelvic floor muscles (along with tendons and ligaments) help hold your pelvic organs in place.

As you age, these muscles tend to weaken, which means they’re unable to provide the same level of support to your bladder, uterus, and other pelvic structures. Weight fluctuations and pregnancy can also take a toll on your pelvic floor muscles.

Weak pelvic floor muscles significantly increase your risk of urinary incontinence. Without treatment, you can develop pelvic organ prolapse, a serious condition that happens when one of your pelvic organs “drops” into the vagina, sometimes protruding outside your body.

Kegel exercises contract the pelvic floor muscles to help them maintain their tone. But to be truly effective, you need to perform multiple repetitions daily — and, of course, you need to use the right technique.

The benefits of Emsella

Emsella uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to trigger hundreds of tiny muscle contractions in your pelvic floor muscles. That means just one Emsella session is equivalent to hundreds (or even thousands) of Kegel exercises.

Research shows that Emsella effectively strengthens pelvic floor muscles, especially in women with urinary incontinence. Better still, during your treatment session, you only have to sit comfortably on the Emsella device.

Shaped a little like a low toilet, Emsella emits tiny pulses of HIFEM energy without causing pain or discomfort. Each session takes about a half hour, and there’s no downtime afterward. In addition to reducing urinary incontinence symptoms, Emsella improves pelvic muscle tone, which can also enhance sexual pleasure.
